Weather and Climate of Alaska — ATM F101X-UX1

    34937 2019-01-14 to 2019-05-04 Focus on the atmosphere as an important part of our environment. Study of weather and climate that covers weather observation, composition and properties of the atmosphere, weather and circulation systems, forecasting weather based on fundamental laws of physics and chemistry. Students are required to make weather observations in Alaska. The students will use their local observations as a foundation and a vantage point to understand the regional and global behavior of the atmosphere (i.e., "Observe locally and connect globally"). Richard Collins 4.00 OPEN REGISTRATION to all students in Alaska. Register at your local campus or UAOnline. Books, materials and a lab kit may be purchased at The UAF Bookstore, www.uaf.bkstr.com. Students are required to watch "An Inconvenient Truth", and must have the ability to stream audio and video files. Students will make weather observations in Alaska, which requires that they are located in Alaska. This course uses Google Apps. This course has been recognized for excellence by Quality Matters. Prerequisites: Placement in WRTG F111X; placement in DEVM F105.
