    35651 2019-01-14 to 2019-05-04 Promotes critical thinking skills that empower people to make independent judgments and informed decisions in response to information conveyed through the channels of mass communications. Emphasis on developing students and others into critical viewers, listeners and readers of media. Diane Kardash 3.00 OPEN REGISTRATION to all students. ONLINE course. Students will increase their own media literacy and be capable of teaching others the lessons they have learned while being more purposeful and critical of their own media consumption. Writing and Oral presentations are a big part of this course. Students are expected to write satisfactorily at a 400 university level. Students will also be expected to record reflection videos and publish them to the Internet for sharing. Students will be expected to check into the course website at least four times per week. Register at your local campus or UAOnline. Books and materials may be purchased at the UAF Bookstore, www.uaf.bkstr.com. This course uses UA Google Apps. Prerequisites: COJO F131X or COJO F141X; junior standing; laptop computer.
