74105 2021-08-23 to 2021-12-11 Study of the oceans from the broad perspective offered by combining insights from biology, physics, chemistry and geology. Topics include the evolution of the oceans and marine life, forces acting on water and the resulting currents and waves, and relationships between the physics and chemistry of water bodies and their biological productivity. Societal questions related to fisheries management, global climate change and pollution will be discussed. Andrew McDonnell 4.00 OPEN REGISTRATION to all students. Students are required to register for CRN 75319 which is the corresponding ONLINE lab for this class. Register at your local campus on at UAOnline. Books and materials may be purchased at the UAF Bookstore: This course uses UA Google Apps. You must have the ability to upload/download and stream audio and video files. Prerequisites: Placement in WRTG F111X; placement in MATH F105.
