Hundreds of thousands of dollars of scholarship and grant money goes unclaimed every year because students do not apply for them. You may think you do not qualify, but when in doubt, apply!
We recommend that you start by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year at fafsa.gov (UAF School Code 001063) even if you don’t think you’ll qualify for need-based aid or are not interested in receiving federal aid. This lets the Financial Aid Office know that you are looking for assistance and some of the demographic information from the FAFSA may be used to determine additional scholarship eligibility.
Deadline: February 15
The University of Alaska awards numerous scholarships each academic year. Explore our Scholarship Application System and complete the general application (enrolled and accepted students are eligible). You will automatically be matched with scholarship opportunities for which you meet the criteria and we’ll also recommend additional scholarships that may be available to you.
Our scholarships have a variety of deadlines but most have a deadline of February 15. Be aware that your completed general application will be archived and removed from the system in August. You must complete a new application at the beginning of each fall semester.Contact the UAF scholarship coordinator at email@example.com for more information. Join the UAF Scholarship Listserv to receive e-mail notifications about new scholarship opportunities!
