Is smiling infectious? YES, if it’s Logan smiling at you. He’s the closest thing to sunshine, unicorns, good vibes and heart eyes all bottled up in a human. If you’re on campus to take an exam and find yourself nervous, he’s got you.
Q: What do you do at eCampus?
A: I am the Student Services Coordinator at UAF eCampus. I coordinate with students, instructors, and proctors when it comes to administering exams. I also help students/faculty navigate through our Learning Management Systems. Overall, I try to provide a positive/comfortable testing experience for all students.
Q: How do you work with students or how does your work impact students?
A: I am the first point of contact for students wanting to take an exam, needing assistance with the software housing their course, and all general questions about eCampus. I try to make their online school experience a seamless transition. Due to students having a wide range of testing needs, we try to make sure the student is as comfortable as possible when taking a UAF eCampus exam.
Q: How can students connect with you?
A: Students can email me directly at ljhertzler@alaska.edu or the UAF testing center email at uaf-testing@alaska.edu. We are happy to answer any questions you may have in regard to taking courses through eCampus, scheduling exams, and how to navigate your online courses.
Q: What do you like about working at UAF eCampus?
A: Working at eCampus has taught me a lot. I enjoy working with a diverse group of individuals, with a wide range of backgrounds. I have learned a lot about computers and online interfaces in the last 6 months, which has been extremely interesting and fun to experience. More than ever, connecting with students has to be my favorite part about working at eCampus. It’s such a joy to meet new individuals through work.
Q: Would you say you’re more of an introvert or extrovert?
A: I am definitely an extrovert — I could make friends in an empty room if need be. I enjoy connecting with people through work and hobbies. Being a chatty Cathy, UAF has been a wonderful outlet for me to connect with students, instructors, and coworkers. I hope to make the exam-taking side of online courses a seamless process and easy to navigate.
Q: Do you have a favorite holiday? Why or why not?
A: I absolutely love Christmas. As I’ve gotten older, I enjoy giving gifts just as much as I like receiving them. There’s something about listening to Frank Sinatra on Christmas morning opening presents — there’s nothing quite like it. Presents are great, but the food is even better. I love Christmas dinner. Turkey, Ham, Rolls and Casseroles are a big part of why this is favorite holiday. It’s a shame I only get to enjoy this meal on two days out of the year.
Q: Which is your favorite meal: breakfast, lunch or dinner?
A: Working at a breakfast restaurant on the side, breakfast is definitely my favorite meal. I love omelets and the endless variety of omelets you can create.
