UAF’s master’s degree program brings a unique perspective to health administration. Unlike other programs that are strictly focused on healthcare in an urban setting, students will be exposed to the unique social, economic and structural challenges that come with health delivery in rural and remote settings.
This program offers healthcare administration and management courses to prepare students for leadership roles in diverse U.S. healthcare settings: pharmaceuticals, consulting, medical device and health technology companies, hospital systems, insurance companies, care organizations as well as non-profit and governmental organizations. Students will gain core competencies in healthcare ethics and policy, health data and information systems, and healthcare finance and economics.

Our MHML students learn by doing. From consulting with a local health service business to solve one of its toughest problems to drafting a public health law position paper, the online degree emphasizes practical skills and knowledge that will directly enhance your career. Students will hone their analytical, writing and leadership skills with each course in the program.
At UAF, online courses typically do not have set meeting times but do have weekly deadlines. While there are some standard practices, each course is designed by the instructor to best teach the material. Most courses run the full length of the 16-week semester.
