Important Dates

  • Oct 15: Deadline to apply for admission for spring semester (most graduate students; some programs have different deadlines)
  • Oct 15: Deadline to apply for fall 2025 graduation
  • Oct 17: Midterm grades due
  • Oct 20: Spring 2026 course list available at UAOnline
  • Oct 27: Begin spring 2026 priority registration (UAF degree students)
  • Oct 31: Last day for student- and faculty-initiated withdrawals (W grade appears on academic transcript)
  • Nov 1: Priority deadline to apply for admission for spring semester (undergraduate students)
  • Nov 3: Begin spring 2026 open registration (all UAF, UAA and UAS students, including non-degree students)
  • Nov 26: Non-teaching day; no classes; UAF is open
  • Nov 27: Fall break (No classes, most offices closed)
  • Nov 28: Fall break (No classes, most offices closed)
  • Nov 29: Fall break (No classes, most offices closed)
  • Nov 30: Fall break (No classes, most offices closed)
  • Dec 1: Dissertation/thesis due to Graduate School
  • Dec 6: Last day of instruction
  • Dec 8-13: Final examinations
  • Dec 14: Residence halls close, noon
  • Dec 17: Deadline for faculty to post grades, noon
  • Dec 25-Jan 2: Winter break (no classes, most offices closed)
  • Jan 2: Financial aid is disbursed
  • Jan 8: Residence halls open to new students, 8 a.m.
  • Jan 12: First day of instruction; add/drop period begins
  • Jan 19: Alaska Civil Rights Day (no classes, most offices closed)
