Holly Cervin joins the Testing Center team at UAF after 35 years as a teacher and administrator in the K12 education world. Holly has years of experience as a test proctor and district test coordinator, and this experience will help us continue a reputation of maintaining test security and positive customer service within our testing centers.
Holly lives with her husband Don, and spends her free time dreaming about the next vacation she and Papa can take to visit any of their 13 grandchildren.
Q: What do you do at eCampus?
A: Testing Center Manager
Q: How do you work with students?
A: I oversee the Testing staff as we support students and community members who take proctored tests in our two testing centers.
Q: How can students connect with you?
A: If students have questions about scheduling a proctored test, they can go to our eCampus website and follow the link to schedule a test date/time. They can contact our testing center assistants or me at uaf-testing@alaska.edu or by calling 907-455-2060.
Q: What is a piece of career advice you would give to your younger self?
A: When you’re working with a team of people, find their strengths and tap into them! Your weaknesses can improve when you surround yourself with the skills you want to acquire.
Q: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A: As a child, I wanted to be a ballerina. My lack of dancing ability and a growth spurt to 6’4” guided my path to playing Volleyball, Basketball and Track and Field all the way up through college. I’m proud to have been inducted into the Gustavus Adolphus College Athletic Hall of Fame. I still hold the MN state collegiate women’s high jump record of 5’8”.
Q: Favorite holiday
A: Born a week before Christmas, I was sent home from the hospital in a Christmas stocking! I love decorating my house for the holidays and watching the excitement of my grandchildren as they play with the many Nutcrackers, Santa sleighs and Christmas stockings of all sizes.
