Staff Spotlight: Sara Borkovec

If you visit the eCampus office in Fairbanks, Sara will probably be one of the first people to greet you. If you call, it’s likely her voice you’ll hear. She’s our lifeline to students and the community.

Q: What do you do at eCampus?

A: I assist with our eCampus course exam proctoring as well as our professional vendor exam proctoring (PSI, Prometric, Pearson Vue…etc). I also process our distance proctor requests and set up exams for courses that request eCampus proctoring. 

Q: How do you work with students?

A: I handle exam requests, provide general support for any questions we may receive at the front desk of eCampus and help students schedule exams!

Q: What do you like about working at UAF eCampus?

A: The fast pace of the front desk and the variety of exams that we deliver (keeps it exciting!) 

Q: What’s your favorite comfort media (book, show, movie, music, or anything else)?

A: When I’m not catching up on Netflix shows, I’m reading knitting mystery books! 

Q: How do you like to end your day?

A: Spending time with my family, working out, and gaming on my PC!

    Karina has worked in higher education for over 14 years. Her passion for learning began at an early age when she learned how to speak English after moving from the tropic to the Arctic. Since then Karina has moved from one classroom to another — on campus, online, or overseas. She’s an alumna of UAF and UAA where she studied biology, psychology, and public health. Karina currently teaches for the Allied Health program in the UAF College of Rural and Community Development. She deeply values connecting with people, and her role as Communications Manager allows her to be an authentic, creative, and supportive champion of equity in education.
